Here they come... The start is where the furthest people are standing, near the top of the picture. Unusually the runners stayed in the field instead of taking the track that is visible on the left of the photo. The photographer (Bill Price) is standing about 1km away from the runners at this point.

John Battersby (V70) decided not to enter the race due to labyrinthitis (not a good thing to have in the Pen y Fan race), but went for a good run anyway. Hope you're better soon, and training for next year!

The weather looks quite nice in these shots (looking northwards into the Usk Valley, but further up the climb the runners entered proper clag, with 50 mph winds and rain.
