Two classic fell races in the Brecon Beacons.

Day 1: Fan y Big Horseshoe Race

A perfect 10-mile skyline route, starting and finishing in lovely Llanfrynach. Created in 2007, the race has proved popular with hardened fell runners and novices alike. Find out more.

The Fan y Big Horseshoe Race starts in

Day 2: Pen y Fan Race

A short race up the highest mountain in southern Britain, packing nearly 2000 feet of ascent into 3.5 miles. First run in 1986, the race has been tackled by all the top UK fell runners (see the results archive), and has a record time that many consider unbreakable. Find out more.

Prizes

A generous prize list for all age categories up to V80, plus M/F team prizes. And a £500 prize for breaking the M/F records at Pen y Fan.

Recce Weekend

We will be leading a slow recce of each race route, as follows:

Fan y Big Horseshoe: date/time to be confirmed, from the Village Hall, Llanfrynach. Bring suitable outdoor gear and refreshments for 3-4 hours in the hills.

Pen y Fan: date/time to be confirmed, from the car parking area at Cwm Llwch. Bring suitable outdoor gear and refreshments for 2 hours in the hills.
