Results from the Fan y Big Horseshoe Race 2015

The morning rain and dubious forecast failed to dampen the enthusiasm of 124 competitors toeing the start line for a 10 mile run over the Fan y Big Horseshoe.
By the time the main field had reached the summit the rain clouds had dispersed giving way to sun and patchy blue sky. Enthusiasm rewarded.
First to cross the finish line in a time of 1.14.50 was Felipe Jones (Aberystwyth) followed by Dylan Lewis (Sarn Helen) and Hugh Aggleton (MCC).
The female category was won in a time of 1.29.40 by Helen Brown (Mynydd du) who had to work hard to stay in front of a fast finishing Katie Roby (MDC). Niki Morgan (Mynydd du) took 3rd place honours.
The “Fans” weekend series winners were Helen Brown, with 2 wins out of 2 and Hugh Aggleton with a 1st and 3rd.
Huge thanks to all marshals, helpers and caterers without whom these races would not take place.
