Brecon Fans Races

Of the 67 pre-entered runners, only 47 made it to the start line - possibly some were deterred by the forecast of low cloud, heavy showers and chilly temperatures. Well the forecast was not wrong - it was tipping down and freezing! But the clouds cleared for the end of the race and the prize-giving, so we all warmed up a bit and enjoyed the sunshine, and some excellent ale from local brewery Antur Brew Co.

Wyndham Turner (Mynydd Du) won the race by a healthy margin over Kevin Fosbury (Bridgend AC), with Andrew Tyler of Hereford Couriers in 3rd and brother Tom Turner in 4th. With Freddie Habgood coming 5th overall this secured the men's team prize for Mynydd Du.

Mynydd Du were similarly dominant in the women's race, with a storming win for Rhian Probert (who said the conditions were ideal, and finished in 6th place overall!), Debbie Stenner in 2nd, and Nikki Childs and Hilary Keogh crossing the line together in 3rd.
